SESAR (Single European Sky ATM Research) is the technological pillar of the Single European Sky . It aims to improve Air Traffic Management (ATM) performance by modernising and harmonising ATM systems through the definition, development, validation and deployment of innovative technological and operational ATM solutions. These innovative solutions constitute what is known as the SESAR concept of operations.
The SESAR Joint Undertaking (SJU) was established in 2008, with the responsibilty of SESAR Development & validation.
THe SESAR DeploymentManager (SDM) was established in 2014, responsible for the dep;oyment of validated SJU projects.
Most of the projects in the aviation can apply for funding by Europe through the TEN-T program or European investment bank.
The European ATM Master Plan is the agreed roadmap that connects ATM research and development activities with deployment scenarios to achieve the SES performance objectives.
The latest Master plan is available on the eATM Portal . The implementation in member states is monitored by means of Local Single Sky ImPlementation documents (LSSIP).
