On Monday 11th of July, IFATSEA representatives Mr. Theodore Kiritsis (Vice President of IFATSEA) and Mr. Costas Christoforou (IFATSEA Director Europe) met with ENISA* officials at their premises at Marousi, Athens.

The meeting provided valuable insights into possible ways of mutual collaboration. A series of topics were presented by both sides and an open discussion was held on:

Discussion points

  • Introduction to IFATSEA profile and activities

  • Definition of SWIM. The concept of SWIM – System Wide Information Management  was introduced by IFATSEA in this meeting.

  • Presentation of IFATSEA - Overview of cyber security through SMC (System Monitoring and Control) of ANSP's (CONOPS presented)

  • Discussion on current gaps on Cyber security in Air Navigation and ENISA’s roll

  • Discussion on how ENISA and IFATSEA could collaborate on Cyber security issue

  • ENISA Feedback on presentation and discussion points

  • Training on Cyber security tailored to the needs of the airport’s personnel / CISO

  • IFATSEA interview on  the study “Securing Smart Airports”

The meeting dealt with the issues above and there was fruitful exchange on cyber security issues in the area of aviation in general. The issues of Smart airports as well as IFATSEA Conops for ANSP SMC , a domain run by ATSEP. The issue of Cyber security in ANS is currently being addressed in many areas such as EASA, EU and also EUROCONTROL.

It was decided that the two organizations will endeavor to enhance their cooperation through future meetings and workshop participation.
