EU legislation process

In the EU legislation process, there are 3 key instances at EU level

  1. European Commission
  2. The council – Single Sky Committee (SSC)
  3. European Parliament

The European Commission is responsible of drafting the legislation, after extensive consultation process of the stakeholders.

This include consultation of the European Economicand Social Committee.

The work of the commission can be followed in the comitology register.

The Council for TRAN is named SSC and hold regular meetings, this is composed of the Ministers of Transport (or representatives) of the Member states.

The European parliament, before discussion in the plenary, the propsals are discussed in the transport (TRAN) commitee.
